come, all you who are thirsty. come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
why do you spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?
these words are from Isaiah 55:1-2. i was thinking of them today... how is it that the hungry and thirsty can eat, drink and be filled (it says "delight yourself in abundance") without money and without cost?
read on... Isaiah 56 encourages the Lord's followers to "Maintain justice and do what is right...
read on... Isaiah 58. The Lord tells His people to "loose the chains of injustice... share your food with the hungry... provide the poor wanderer with shelter... clothe the naked... spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry... satisfy the needs of the oppressed"
share, share, share. spend yourself for the poor. be a rich blessing for those in poverty. do not save up and accumulate for your own comfort but bless and be a blessing.
eric and i are challenged by this... anyone else? any thoughts or comments? our God is A GOD OF THE LEAST
