You have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on.
Deuteronomy 1:6-7
Could it be that you are at a place of comfort and contentment? Did you know that quite often the Lord will say "you've been there long enough... move on" into a time of challenge and battle?
Did you know that He also says, "Don't be afraid! Don't be discouraged!" (vs. 21)
Are you willing to break camp?

ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are saying here, from past experiences and in preparation for what may come. As Steve Camp said in his song "Living Dangerously in the Hands of God": 'There is safety in complacency. But God is calling us out of our comfort zones into a life of complete surrender to the cross. To live dangerously is not to live recklessly but righteously. And it is because of God's radical grace for us that we can risk living a life of radical obedience to Him.'

you're right, Andrew. sure is scary, tho. the "mountain" meant safety... they could run to the hills and hide. out in the wilderness they experienced attack, famine, natural devastation, and complete vulnerability. living without self-comfort truly is radical!
